This perfect nature walk can be construed to be your stroll in that favourite park of yours right in the neighbourhood, the only difference is, this park has all the trappings of sublime natural ecosystems and gripping diverse cultures as we hike through interesting lively villages where we come across smiling folks who live by ancient traditions most have forgotten in other parts of a highly developed and materialistic planet that we all live on. We hike through tranquil forests and active villages in the Shivapuri Valley and then up to Shivapuri Hill at (2729m), the highest elevation on this trip. From the top of Shivapuri Hill we’ll get to view more than 50 towering mountain peaks, including Manaslu, Boudhahimal, Ganeshhimal, the Langtang range, Dorjeelakpa, Shisapangma and Gaurishankar peaks. We also stroll down to the village of Nagarkot, one of the most naturally beautiful spots in the entire Kathmandu Valley with box-office views of the great Himalayan peaks…and some unforgettable sunrise and sunset experiences that wraps up this short, cool hike.

Day 02: Full day Sightseeing of Kathmandu
We begin our sightseeing tour with a short drive to Pashupatinath Temple. Pashupatinath temple is dedicated to the Hindu deity Lord Shiva and is said to be the most revered shrine for Hindus in Nepal. Hereabouts, you can witness cremation rituals of Hindus at ‘Aryaghat’, the cremation area of the temple. Our next destination is Boudhanath - the largest stupa in Nepal and a centrepoint of Tibetan culture in Kathmandu. The stupa is designed in the shape of a giant mandala (assumed to be a representation of the Buddhist cosmos). Our next stop is Bhaktapur. Spread over an area of 6.88 sq km, 12 km south-east of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur Durbar Square or Bhadgaon showcases the ancient grandiose of the Golden Age of Nepali art and architecture. Built by King Anand Dev Malla in the 9th century, the city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. It has remained a model for heritage conservation since then. At the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, you will find many fine examples of sculpture, woodcarving and pagodas dedicated to different gods and goddesses – the Nyatapol & Dattaraya Temples, the Golden Gate, Palace of 55 windows that also has marks of bullet penetrations, a tragic tale of this once-upon-a-time independent kingdom. At dusk, we return to our hotel
Day 03: Kathmandu to Kakani (1982m)
After breakfast, we get into our vehicle for a 29 kilometres cruise northwest to Kakani, a scenic village with beautiful views of the Himalayas stretching from the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges to Ganesh Himal. The landscape here is leafy, with rhododendron and oak forests on the southern slopes leading down to Balaju. We Camp overnight on a High grassy Hillock
Day 04: High Hill – Shivapuri Hill (2729m)
Our hike today goes along green hilltops, taking us to Shivapuri, famous for its rich wildlife and wide variety of birds. This national park is a watershed that provides most of the drinking water for Kathmandu far below. We bunk out at our lodge or in tented camps, whatever we’ve chosen for the trip
Day 05: Shivapuri hill – Chisapani (2050m)
After breakfast, we hit the trail by walking even further along the hills to ‘Chisapani’, a Tamang village whose name means ‘cold water’. We crash out for the night here, with beautiful views of the mountains.
